What is claim status automation?
Claim status automation replaces manual portal logins and phone calls with software that monitors outstanding claims, normalizes payer responses, and routes next actions. Only about 500 payers support reliable 276/277 feeds. The rest require portal agents or direct APIs. Teams comparing Substrate AI, AKASA, Infinx, Waystar, Availity, Stedi, Experian Health, Optum, R1RCM, and Adonis should start with payer coverage and whether the tool writes back to the PM.
